We value our students and recognise the potential in the contribution which they can make to their 6th Form, their school and their wider community. To maximise this potential many opportunities exist for students to become leaders and role models. Leadership skills are actively sought by employers and universities and our students are encouraged to take on challenging roles to develop this aspect of their skill set. Students have the opportunity to become:
Head Girl/Head Boy and Deputies
Student Ambassadors and Peer Mentors
6th Form Council Members
Director/Producer of 6th Form show
Qualified Sports Leaders
Qualified Arts Leaders
Every year there are trips to foreign countries to complement academic study, these have included: Brazil, Ausria, Eygpt, Morocco and Germany.
Students who take part in the American Exchange will visit Mineral Point, Wisconsin, USA. Staying with local families, students have the opportunity to immerse themselves into American life for an incredible week of events. The American students make a return visit to Redruth.
For students who choose to become involved in the Comenius Project, there is an opportunity to visit different European countries. Last year students won a further trip to visit the European Parliament in Strasbourg. In 2016 a ski trip is planned.
Every year 6th Form students raise significant sums for local and national charities and include campaigns for Breast Cancer Awareness, Children's Hospice, Children in Need, the Poppy Appeal and Comic Relief.
